Bharat Taxi Model Set for Uttar Pradesh Village Expansion
Bharat Taxi is a new transportation service launched in four Uttar Pradesh cities.
Drivers do not have to pay the platform a commission for each ride.
Taxi, bike and three-wheeler drivers can join the service.
Participants are also promised social security of Rs 5 lakh.
The state government now wants to use a similar idea for buses in villages.
This could give villagers more ways to travel.
It could also help local young people find work.
The plan follows positive experiences with bike taxis during Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025.
Bharat Taxi has launched in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj.
The service uses a zero-commission model, allowing drivers to keep ride earnings without platform commissions.
Taxi, two-wheeler and three-wheeler drivers can register, with participants receiving social security of Rs 5 lakh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the Transport Department to develop rural bus services on a similar model.
Officials said the expansion could improve village transportation and create employment opportunities for local youth.
