Fresher hiring rises to 75% on International Youth Day 2026

There is a special day every year called International Youth Day, and in 2026 it is on August 12.

Many years ago, in the late 1990s, the United Nations picked this day to talk about problems young people face, like school, jobs, health, and having a say in decisions.

The idea came from a big meeting in 1998 in a city called Lisbon.

This year, the day is a good time to look at young people searching for their first jobs in India.

A new report says companies in India now want to hire fresh graduates more, and the hiring number went up to 75%.

But not every type of company is hiring the same amount.

Online shopping companies and new technology businesses are hiring even more, with their hiring plans going from 90% to 93%.

Some other industries are being more careful and hiring fewer people.

The important question is not just if young people can find a job, but which industries have jobs for them and what skills they need to learn.
