Fresher hiring intent rises to 75 pc, AI skills key
A company called TeamLease EdTech made a report about jobs for students just finishing school or college in India.
For the second half of 2025, 75 out of every 100 employers said they plan to hire fresh graduates.
That is a small improvement from the first half of the year, when 73 out of 100 said yes.
Shops, online stores, technology startups and factories are hiring the most new graduates.
Some industries, like computer technology, are hiring a little less than before.
Companies are being pickier and want workers with practical, job-ready skills.
Many employers, especially in technology and consulting, want people who understand AI.
The city of Bengaluru wants the most fresh graduates, followed by Mumbai and Chennai.
The report says certificates in areas like chip design, AI engineering and cloud security can help students get jobs.
It also says schools should teach the skills companies actually need.
Fresher hiring intent in India rose to 75 per cent for July-December 2025 from 73 per cent in the first half, according to a TeamLease EdTech report.
Retail, e-commerce, technology startups and manufacturing drove demand for fresh graduates, but the recovery remained uneven across sectors.
Fresher hiring intent in the IT sector declined to 76 per cent from 81 per cent, while consulting, telecom and marketing and advertising each dropped three per cent.
Employers are becoming more selective, with IT and consulting increasingly expecting AI proficiency, applied problem-solving and hands-on project experience.
Bengaluru recorded the highest fresher hiring intent at around 90 per cent, followed by Mumbai at 75 per cent and Chennai at 71 per cent.
