Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories has introduced a new cancer medicine in India called NIVORZ.

It is a biosimilar version of nivolumab, an existing treatment that helps the immune system fight cancer.

The medicine was made at the company’s facility in Hyderabad.

Indian authorities approved it for 12 different cancer uses.

Researchers studied it in 288 patients from India and Russia.

The company said NIVORZ worked similarly to the original medicine in effectiveness, safety and other measures.

It comes in single-use containers and is given through an intravenous infusion.

Dr. Reddy’s says the launch may help more patients afford immunotherapy.

The company also said the launch expands its cancer-drug business.
