UPSC Opens Applications for 34 Government Posts Across Departments
The UPSC is the office that hires people for many government jobs in India.
It just announced 34 new job openings in different government departments.
People who want these jobs must fill out a form online.
The forms opened on August 8.
Most people must finish their forms by August 28, but people applying for jobs in Ladakh have until September 4.
The jobs are very different — some are for engineers, some for map-makers, and some for plant and soil experts.
Each job needs a different kind of school degree.
Most applicants pay a small fee of 25 rupees, but women and some other groups do not have to pay.
The UPSC warns everyone to fill in their details carefully, because mistakes could get their application rejected.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for direct recruitment to 34 posts across various government departments and ministries.
Online applications opened on August 8; the deadline is August 28 at 6pm for most posts and September 4 for posts under the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The vacancies include Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil and Electronics), Assistant Director (Engineering), Superintendent Translation, Research Officer, Horticulture Development Officer and Soil Conservation Assistant.
Eligibility varies by post and includes engineering degrees, master's degrees in geography or geoinformatics, and horticulture/agriculture degrees; Horticulture Development Officer posts are reserved for Ladakh domiciles.
The application fee is Rs 25, waived for women, SC, ST and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities candidates, and applications must be submitted through the UPSC online recruitment portal.
