Police Invoke MCOCA Against Arif China Gang Over Extortion

Mumbai police have accused a gang led by Arif China of demanding money from a meat shop owner.

The alleged demand was ₹10,000 every month.

Police say the owner refused to pay.

They allege that he was then attacked with a sword.

Police also say the gang used threats and firearms to frighten people.

Three people have been arrested in the case, and another person is wanted.

Police say the group has been linked to other serious cases since 2016.

Because of the alleged continuing criminal activity, police applied a special organized-crime law called MCOCA.
