Visakhapatnam Celebrates Sri Krishna Janmashtami With Devotion and Festivity
Visakhapatnam celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami with prayers, music and cultural programmes.
The festival celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna.
Children dressed as Krishna and Gopikas for school performances.
Temples held special baths for their deities and devotional singing.
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness organised prayers, competitions, a pot-breaking ceremony and a drone show.
The Hare Krishna Movement held celebrations at two locations.
Devotees also took part in swing services and chanting.
Public representatives and government officials joined some of the events.
Visakhapatnam marked Sri Krishna Janmashtami with devotional programmes, cultural events and children dressed as Krishna and Radha.
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness hosted Mangala Aarti, darshan, a 24-hour Sankirtana, Abhishekam, cultural competitions, Utlotsavam and a drone show.
Hare Krishna Movement celebrations at Gadi Raju Palace and Hare Krishna Vaikuntham included ceremonial bathing, devotional music, Jhula Seva and Maha Mangala Arati.
Schools, including NRI’s Indian Springs School and its branches, organised fancy-dress events, performances and pot-breaking activities.
Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat and District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore participated in separate temple celebrations.
