Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Announces LPG Aid, Expands Bus Travel

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay announced help with cooking-gas costs.

Eligible families may receive money back for three LPG cylinders each year.

Families usually need an annual income of Rs 2.5 lakh or less, although some other groups are also included.

The money will be sent to female heads of households after the cylinders are bought and delivered.

The plan may help about 1.30 crore families and cost about Rs 4,000 crore each year.

Women and transgender people will also be able to ride more government buses for free.

This bus-travel expansion is scheduled to begin on October 2.

Reports disagree about whether the LPG plan begins at Pongal in January or simply next year.
