CBI Alleges Former Minister’s Family Bribed Mining Official
The CBI is investigating an alleged bribe linked to a quarry accident.
A worker at Vasavi Granites died after being hit by a boulder.
The CBI says the quarry owner’s family paid Rs 2 lakh to mining officials.
They allegedly wanted an official report that was favourable to the quarry management.
Mining deputy director Sivasankar was arrested and named the main accused.
Several other people, including members of the former minister’s family, were also named.
Some accused people are in remand, while Sudheer has not been found.
The CBI is checking whether more people were involved.
The CBI alleged that Sidda Raghavarao’s family paid Rs 2 lakh to mining officials on August 17.
The alleged bribe sought a favourable report after a Vasavi Granites worker died in a quarry accident.
Deputy director Sivasankar was named A1, while Sidda Venkata Sudheer was named A2 in the FIR.
Venkata Suresh Kumar, surveyor A. Subhashkar Reddy and manager Y. Surendra were also named accused.
Sivasankar, Venkata Suresh and two others are in remand, while Sudheer is absconding.
