US Ends TPS for Haiti, Syria, Yemen After Court Ruling

The US Supreme Court said the government can stop a special protection program called TPS for people from Haiti, Syria, and Yemen.

The program let them live and work in the US because their home countries were unsafe.

After the court decision, the program ended in July 2026.

People who had work permits from TPS can no longer use them, so their employers must check their new documents.

Some courts are still deciding how the ending works, and a judge even stopped a new rule for a short time.

The government said it’s “closing time,” meaning people can stay for a while but can’t keep living there forever without another legal status.
