Tirumala to Hold Two Brahmotsavams for Lord Venkateswara

Tirumala will celebrate Lord Venkateswara’s festival twice this year.

This happens because there is an extra lunar month called Adhika Masam.

The first festival runs from September 15 to September 23.

The second festival runs from October 12 to October 20.

During the celebrations, religious idols are taken through processions on decorated vehicles.

These vehicles are called vahanams.

The first festival begins with a flag-raising ceremony and ends with a flag-lowering ceremony.

The second festival does not have those two ceremonies.
