A former minister in India named Ambati Rambabu went to the Andhra Pradesh High Court to ask for help.

He wanted the court to cancel, or quash, a police case that was registered against him.

A man named Pilli Manikyala Rao had complained to the police about Rambabu.

Rao said Rambabu shared a changed, fake video of another leader named Pemmasani Chandrasekhar on an app called Instagram.

Rao said the fake video was shared to make Pemmasani Chandrasekhar look bad, and that it also showed disrespect to the national flag.

Rambabu asked the judge to cancel the police case.

A judge named Justice Y. Lakshmana Rao listened to both sides.

The court told the police to send Rambabu a legal notice of appearance under a rule called Section 35(3) of the BNSS.

The court did not cancel the case right away.

It will hear the matter again in September.
