SC asks Calcutta High Court to consider judge's security request

The Supreme Court is a very important court in India.

It asked the chief judge of another court in Calcutta to look into making a retired judge safe.

That retired judge is helping solve problems with the voter list in West Bengal.

Sometimes people's names are missing from the list or spelled wrongly.

The Election Commission updated the voter list before the Assembly elections.

Because the retired judge has a big responsibility, they asked for security.

The Supreme Court is keeping an eye on how these voter list problems are handled.

Nineteen groups of judges were set up to hear people's complaints about the list.

Those judges can look at new papers people bring with them.

They can also choose their own way of working on each appeal.
