Adiraj Mestry Secures Second Global Rank in Abacus Championship 2026
There is a seven-year-old boy named Adiraj Mestry who lives in Thane, a city in India.
He is very good at solving maths problems in his head and with an abacus, a counting tool with beads.
Adiraj went to a big competition called the Abacus and Mental Maths Olympiad in Taipei, Taiwan.
Children from 15 different countries took part in the contest.
Adiraj did so well that he came second in the entire world.
He had already won a big national title in India back in February.
His team, Team India, also did very well and won lots of medals.
Adiraj practices at a special learning academy where his trainers help him get better.
Everyone in his city is very proud of him.

India finished second overall in the team rankings with 46 medals, while host nation Taiwan claimed the top position.
In February 2026, Adiraj won the 'Super Champion' title at the national level before his international success.
Adiraj is a Class 3 student at New Horizon Scholars School and trains at Wonder Kidz Learning Academy under head trainer Gauri Daund.
