Three militants arrested near Myanmar border
Three militants from a banned group were arrested near the Myanmar border in Manipur.
They were part of a group called Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup.
The police also found and destroyed two secret hideouts in another part of Manipur.
They also found some guns and bullets.
The police have been doing a lot of searches and checks in Manipur because there has been a lot of fighting between different groups of people there.
More than 260 people have been killed in these fights since last year.
Three militants of the banned Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup were arrested near the Myanmar border in Chandel district.
Two illegal bunkers were destroyed in Ukhrul district during a joint operation by security forces.
Weapons including two single-barrel rifles, one pistol with a magazine, and ammunition were recovered.
Security forces have been conducting search operations in Manipur since ethnic violence broke out three years ago.
More than 260 people have been killed in ethnic strife between Meiteis and Kuki-Zo groups since May 2023.
