Alleged Bawariya Gang Member Arrested in Five Delhi Chain-Snatching Cases
Police in east Delhi arrested a 30-year-old man named Jeevan.
They say he is an alleged member of the Bawariya gang.
Police connected him to five gold chain-snatching cases.
The cases happened between June 22 and July 30.
Officers examined more than 250 CCTV cameras to trace him.
They also used field surveillance to identify and track him.
Police recovered a motorcycle, a country-made pistol and a live cartridge.
Jeevan allegedly told police that another man, Shankar, helped him.
Shankar has not been arrested and the investigation is continuing.

The cases were registered at Anand Vihar police station between June 22 and July 30.
Police analysed more than 250 CCTV cameras after a chain-snatching incident near Savita Vihar Market on July 30.
A motorcycle allegedly used in the crimes, a country-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered.
Jeevan allegedly told police that he committed the offences with his associate Shankar, who remains absconding.
