Delhi is checking and updating its voter list in an exercise called the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.

The process began with forms being delivered to voters’ homes on June 30.

Officials have changed the timetable for the third time.

They need more time to organise polling stations.

The polling-station work must now be completed by August 24.

A temporary voter list, called the draft electoral roll, will be released on August 31.

Voters whose names are missing can submit claims or objections until September 30.

Officials will review these claims and objections through October 29.

The final voter list is scheduled to be released on November 4.
