Sircilla Plans Procurement Of 2.40 Lakh Tonnes Paddy
Sircilla expects farmers to bring a large amount of paddy to markets this season.
Officials estimate the amount will be about 2.40 lakh metric tonnes.
The district plans to open 236 places where farmers can sell their paddy.
These centres will be operated through several local organisations.
Collector Garima Agarwal told officials to arrange enough vehicles to move the paddy.
GPS devices will help officials track those vehicles.
The district already has more than 13 lakh gunny bags for storing the crop.
Officials also have weighing machines, moisture machines and other equipment to support the buying process.
Officials estimate that 2.40 lakh metric tonnes of fine and normal paddy will reach Sircilla markets during the Kharif season.
The district plans to establish 236 procurement centres, including 136 at IKPs, 96 at PACS, seven at MEPMA and one at the DCMS.
Collector Garima Agarwal directed officials to arrange lorries and tractors and install GPS equipment on all transport vehicles.
The district has 13,43,500 gunny bags, including 10,83,500 new bags, with additional procurement planned if needed.
Available equipment includes 333 moisture machines, 630 electronic weighing machines, 270 husk removers and 270 guide callipers.
