Garlic Consignment Worth ₹20 Lakh Allegedly Goes Missing in Transit

A trader sent a large truckload of garlic from Madhya Pradesh to West Bengal.

The shipment contained 432 bags weighing 136 quintals and 85 kilograms.

It was worth about ₹20 lakh.

The truck left Piplia Mandi on August 23.

The next day, the driver and his companion could not be reached by phone.

The buyer said the garlic had not arrived.

The trader also claimed that the truck showed a number plate different from its actual registration.

Police have filed a case and are looking for the two men, the truck and the garlic.
