Rao Urges Immediate Completion of Gopalagiri Oil Palm Factory

Errabelli Dayakar Rao wants an oil palm factory built soon at Gopalagiri.

The factory would help farmers near Thorrur process and sell their oil palm bunches nearby.

Rao said farmers currently face problems because they must transport their produce to distant places.

He said the earlier BRS government approved factories at Gopalagiri and Siddipet.

Nearly Rs.100 crore was set aside for the Gopalagiri project, according to Rao.

He alleged that construction has not gone beyond the foundation-stone ceremony.

Rao said oil palm could earn farmers about Rs.2 lakh per acre when grown according to agricultural advice.

He also accused government nurseries of providing poor-quality or over-aged seedlings.

He asked the Telangana government to finish the factory and address farmers’ concerns.
