Uttar Pradesh to establish 238 EV charging stations

The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to set up 238 public EV charging stations with 714 chargers across the state.

This initiative is part of the PM E-Drive Scheme and the UP EV Manufacturing and Mobility Policy-2022.

The charging stations will be established in various cities, including Gautam Buddha Nagar, Lucknow, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Agra, Mathura, Prayagraj, Kanpur Nagar, Ghaziabad, and Kanpur Dehat.

The government aims to promote electric vehicles, develop a green transport system, and attract investment.

Private companies will operate the charging stations under a 10-year contract, with subsidies and infrastructure support provided by the government.
