Naidu Orders Andhra Pradesh To Capture Rainwater Amid Forecasts

Andhra Pradesh has received heavy rain in many districts.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu asked officials to save as much of this water as possible.

They will try to fill reservoirs, tanks and other water bodies.

Water was already flowing into Prakasam Barrage, and more water is expected in several reservoirs.

Officials are watching rivers and reservoirs because some warning levels may be reached between September 25 and 27.

Naidu also asked the government to prepare for the effects of El Niño.

He suggested better soil care, different crops, biochar and natural farming.

He wants computers, satellite information and data to help officials make better decisions.

He also discussed schools, electricity, agriculture and sports programs.

Yeleru Reservoir: Naidu directed officials to use Godavari flows to fill Yeleru Reservoir with 24 TMC of water.
