Kalyandurg in Anantapur district recorded Rayalaseema’s highest temperature at 39.9°C on Tuesday.
Several areas across Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, Kurnool, and Nandyal districts recorded temperatures above 38°C.
Pagidyala in Nandyal district reached 39.4°C, while Yellanur and Tadipatri in Anantapur recorded 39.1°C and 38.9°C.
Deficient rainfall, dry conditions, and continuing heat are increasing concerns for agriculture, livestock, and water resources.
Scientist Dr. Narayana Swamy said El Nino’s adverse impact was contributing to concern, with further temperature rises being monitored.
