India operationalises three AI-based weather models for accurate forecasts
The weather scientists in India got some very smart computer helpers.
These helpers use artificial intelligence, which is like a clever robot brain that learns from information.
They can look at lots of weather data very quickly.
This helps them predict big storms, heavy rain, and other dangerous weather.
People can then be warned before the bad weather arrives.
The government's Earth Sciences Ministry started using three of these smart models.
There is also a special computer map that shows where dangerous weather might happen across the whole country.
It helps emergency teams, farmers, and communities stay safe.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences has operationalised three AI-based global weather models to improve forecast accuracy and support severe weather prediction.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said indigenously developed AI and machine learning applications help monitor and nowcast cyclones, heavy rainfall, and other natural disasters.
The India Meteorological Department developed the Multi-Hazard Early Warning Decision Support System (MHEW-DSS), a Web-GIS-based platform covering India, including Odisha.
The system provides sector-specific advisories to central and state authorities, disaster management agencies, communities, and industries.
The ministry signed MoUs with institutes including ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, and SOADU.
