Delhi actually got a little less rain than normal for the month of August.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) rectified a data entry error at the Safdarjung observatory that overreported Delhi's August rainfall by 37.3 mm.
Delhi has received 197.2 mm of rain this month, slightly below its normal August average of 226.8 mm.
Independence Day (August 15) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered light rain, including a possible early morning shower.
Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is forecast across Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and parts of North India.
Fishermen have been warned to stay out of the sea off West Bengal, Odisha, and North Andhra Pradesh coasts due to squally winds gusting up to 65 km/h.
A new storm system expected around August 20 may bring heavy rain back to Central India, the Western Ghats, and northern mountain regions.
