Rajasthan Food Safety Department Acts Against Hotel for Expired Food
Some food safety officers in Rajasthan went to check a hotel in Jaipur.
They wanted to make sure the food there was safe to eat.
This was part of a special campaign called 'Shuddh Aahar-Milawat Par Vaar', which means pure food and war on adulteration.
At the hotel, they found food that had expired, like bread, peanut butter, and sweet corn.
Expired food can make people sick, so the officers destroyed it right away.
They also took small samples of paneer and baati to test in a laboratory.
The officers noticed the hotel's Chinese food menu did not warn customers about MSG, which is an ingredient some people want to know about.
The hotel will get a notice to fix its problems.
The food safety department says it will keep checking restaurants and hotels to keep food safe for everyone.
Rajasthan Food Safety Department inspected a private hotel in Bani Park, Jaipur, on Thursday.
Officials collected one sample each of paneer and baati under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
Expired items found included six packets of bread, two 1-kg jars of peanut butter, and six tins of sweet corn, all destroyed on the spot.
The hotel's Chinese food menu lacked the mandatory warning about the use of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG).
Samples will be sent to a food laboratory for testing, and a separate improvement notice will be issued to the hotel management.
