45-acre Panathur tree park inaugurated under Bengaluru urban forest scheme
A new tree park has opened in Panathur, Bengaluru.
It covers 45 acres of land managed by the Forest Department.
The park was built with money from Qualcomm India and help from SayTrees.
It has many trees and plants that can provide homes for birds and animals.
Visitors can walk along a two-kilometre eco-trail.
There is also an open gym, a children’s play area, toilets, parking and shaded gazebos.
The forest minister asked for the remaining 100 acres to be developed too.
The park is meant to give people more green space and encourage outdoor activities.
Forest Minister Ramalinga Reddy inaugurated a 45-acre tree park at Panathur near Whitefield.
The park was developed under the Forest Department’s Nagaravana scheme with Rs 4.50 crore in CSR funding.
Qualcomm India Pvt Ltd supported the project in collaboration with NGO SayTrees.
Facilities include a two-kilometre eco-trail, open gym, children’s play equipment, toilets, parking and gazebos.
Reddy urged Qualcomm India to help develop the remaining 100 acres of Forest Department land in Panathur.
