Telangana to Host Eighth Khelo India Youth Games in 2026
Telangana will host the Khelo India Youth Games in December 2026.
These are sports competitions for young athletes from across India.
Events will be held in four Telangana cities.
More than 6,000 athletes are expected to participate.
There will be 25 sports in the Games.
Telangana can suggest one sport from its own region.
Another new sport will also be added.
The Central Government has provided money to organize the event and improve sports facilities.
The Centre approved Telangana as host of the eighth Khelo India Youth Games in December 2026.
Competitions will take place in Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, and Mahabubnagar.
The Games will feature 25 sports and are expected to attract more than 6,000 athletes.
Telangana may propose one local sport, while another new discipline will also be introduced.
The Central Government released Rs 21.17 crore, while nearly Rs 30 crore has supported sports infrastructure in Telangana.
