In Pune, India, three people, including a trustee of the Jejuri temple, were accused of tricking a job seeker out of ₹45 lakh.

They promised him a permanent job in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) but gave him fake appointment letters with forged signatures and official seals.

The scam happened between March 2022 and July 2026.

The police are investigating to find out if more people were involved and to understand the full extent of the scam.
