Mumbai Worker Dies in Fall; FIR Against Company Owners, Contractor
A construction worker in Mumbai, India, was helping build a tall building and was working very high up on the 14th floor.
He was using a machine called a grinder to smooth a wall inside a lift duct.
Sadly, there was no safety net to catch him, and he did not have a helmet or a safety belt.
He fell, and nobody saw him after that.
His family got worried when he did not come home and went to look for him the next morning.
They found him in a water tank behind the building.
Doctors at the hospital could not save him.
The police think the people in charge of the building did not keep the worker safe.
Now the police have filed a case against the company owners, the contractor, and others.

A 38-year-old mason, Bikas Let, died after falling from the 14th floor of an under-construction building in Vikhroli East, Mumbai.
Vikhroli police registered an FIR against Reliable Corporation Pvt. Ltd. owners Fazal Shaikh and Shakir Shaikh, labour contractor Sakim, site engineer Prasanna and others for alleged negligence.
According to police, the lift duct where Let was working had no safety net, and he had not been provided a safety belt or helmet.
Let's body was found floating in a water tank behind the building, which also lacked protective measures; he was declared dead at Rajawadi Hospital.
The case was registered under Sections 106(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway.
