BMC Approves ₹42-Crore Project to Stabilise Malabar Hill Slope

Mumbai is a big city in India with a tall hill called Malabar Hill.

When it rains a lot, the dirt on the hill can slide down.

That is called a landslide, and it can be dangerous for people and homes below.

Near a park called Kamala Nehru Park, landslides have happened several times.

Rain even broke parts of an old stone wall that held the hill up.

The city's government, called the BMC, decided to fix the problem.

They approved a plan that costs about 42 crore rupees.

Workers will make the hill stronger and build a big concrete wall to hold the soil in place.

They will also add better drains so rainwater can flow away safely.

Experts from a famous engineering college helped plan the work to keep people safe.
