India Successfully Test-Fires Nuclear-Capable Agni-4 Ballistic Missile From Odisha

India has a team of soldiers and scientists who work to keep the country safe.

They build big rockets called missiles that can fly very, very far.

One of these rockets is named Agni-4, and it is a special kind called a ballistic missile.

On August 6, 2026, India launched Agni-4 into the sky from a special testing place called the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, a town in Odisha, India.

Two groups, the Strategic Forces Command and the DRDO, were in charge of the test.

The missile uses solid fuel and can fly up to 4,000 kilometres.

It can also be moved on roads and launched from different places, which makes it more flexible.

The test went exactly as planned, and all the important parts of the missile worked the way they should.

India's Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, said it was a perfect 'textbook mission launch.'

Earlier this year, India also tested two other missiles called Agni-Prime and Agni-3.
