Indian Railways Deploys KAVACH 4.0 in Hyderabad Division
Indian Railways has started using a newer train safety system called KAVACH 4.0.
It was introduced for the first time on part of the Hyderabad railway division.
The upgraded system covers 108 kilometres between Malkajgiri and Kamareddi.
It helps trains know their exact location and understand signal information.
It can also communicate with railway stations and signalling equipment.
If a train is moving too fast or a driver does not brake when needed, KAVACH can apply the brakes automatically.
This is meant to reduce dangerous signal violations and collisions.
Indian Railways plans to use the system on more railway routes.
