Man kills mother, dies by suicide in Maharashtra's Nanded district

Something very sad happened in a town called Nanded in Maharashtra, India.

A 26-year-old man named Pratik hurt his 50-year-old mother very badly at their home.

He used an iron rod and a knife during the attack, and sadly his mother, Bharti Balaji Chauthare, died.

After that, Pratik also died by suicide.

Police were told about what happened and rushed to the house.

They took both Pratik and his mother to the hospital, but doctors said they had already passed away.

Police said Pratik had been feeling very down for a long time and was getting treatment for depression for the past few years.

Depression is an illness in the mind that makes people feel very sad and hopeless.

Police are trying to find out if problems in the family or mental stress caused what happened.
