KYS Leads Massive Delhi University Student Protest Over Fee Hikes
Students from Delhi University gathered for a big protest walk.
They marched in the university's North Campus even though it was raining.

Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS) activists and students from Delhi University colleges and the School of Open Learning (SOL) marched in DU's North Campus despite continuous rain and water-logging.
Protesters demanded the rollback of steep fee hikes, with some DU courses reporting more than 300 per cent fee increases blamed on the HEFA-NEP 2020 model of loans instead of grants.
The march demanded withdrawal of sub-standard SOL study materials and an independent academic audit, citing harm to lakhs of students who are largely first-generation learners.
Students protested the low number of one-year postgraduate seats across 46 departments, where more than 31,000 students are eligible for one-year master's courses.
KYS also demanded scrapping of useless SECs and VACs, 10% Deprivation Points for government school students, independent ICCs, disabled-inclusive measures and an end to curbs on democratic rights, warning it will intensify the struggle if demands are not met.
