Bihar Flags Off Police Didi Vehicles to Protect Students
Bihar’s police have received 4,700 new two-wheelers.
The group using them is called the Abhaya Brigade, or Police Didi.
Police personnel will use the vehicles to patrol near schools and colleges.
They will also patrol places where women and girls often go.
Women officers received 2,700 scooters.
Male constables received 2,000 motorcycles.
The vehicles were launched by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary in Patna.
Police chief Vinay Kumar said protecting women is the police’s most important responsibility.

The vehicles will support patrolling around schools, colleges and other areas frequented by women and girls.
Women police personnel received 2,700 scooters, while male constables received 2,000 motorcycles.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary launched the vehicles at Gyan Bhawan in Patna on Wednesday.
Police chief Vinay Kumar said nearly 40,000 women had joined and been trained in Bihar’s police force.
