Bengali Guest Worker Dies After Cardiac Arrest at Chennai Airport
A man who built houses in a big city was feeling sick.
His name was Shafiqul Sheikh and he was 52 years old.
He decided to fly back to his hometown in West Bengal to see a doctor.
He went to the Chennai airport to catch an IndiGo plane to Kolkata.
While walking to the check-in counter, he suddenly fell to the floor.
Airport workers quickly called the medical team to help him.
The doctors said his heart had suddenly stopped, and sadly he passed away.
Police sent his body to the Tambaram Government Hospital for a post-mortem to learn more.
A case was registered and the investigation continues.
Shafiqul Sheikh, a 52-year-old construction worker from West Bengal, died after a suspected cardiac arrest at Chennai airport on Friday.
He lived in Anna Nagar, Chennai, and had been experiencing health issues, so he was flying home for treatment.
He collapsed around 11.50 am while walking towards the IndiGo check-in counter at Terminal 1.
Doctors declared him dead, saying he had suffered a cardiac arrest before medical assistance could be administered.
Police sent his body to Tambaram Government Hospital for post-mortem and registered a case; the investigation is ongoing.
