Two More Arrested In Gangrape-Murder Case Of Assam Teen
Something very sad and scary happened to a 16-year-old girl in Assam.
Police say five men hurt her very badly and caused her death.
Two more of the men were arrested just this week, and three others were caught earlier.
Police think the girl was dating two of the arrested men at the same time.
One of them called her on the phone when her family was not at home.
When she came out to meet him, he and his friend brought other people to hurt her.
This happened inside her own house.
Her body was found at her home near a big highway.
A special police team is now investigating to find out exactly what happened.
The arrested men have been charged with serious crimes and could face a very long punishment.
Two more men, Monuj Das alias Rajdeep Das (23) and Biraj Das (18), were arrested in connection with the gangrape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in Assam's Hailakandi, taking total arrests to five.
Police had earlier arrested Apu Malakar (18), Joydip Ree (19), and another minor aged 17.
A Special Investigation Team under the Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) was formed on Tuesday for a swift investigation.
Hailakandi SP Amitava Sinha said the girl was dating two of the accused at the same time and came out after a phone call, after which the two 'boyfriends' brought friends who allegedly raped and murdered her in her house.
The girl's mutilated body was found at her home near National Highway-6 late on Saturday evening; the accused face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act.
