UP CM Yogi Adityanath announces new youth policy on I-Day
Every year, India celebrates Independence Day, the day the country became free.
On this special day in Uttar Pradesh, the state's leader, called the Chief Minister, made a big announcement.
He said the government will create a new Youth Policy to help young people.
A Youth Policy is a plan to help young people learn skills and find jobs.
The Chief Minister said young people are the state's greatest asset.
He told everyone that companies have promised to invest a lot of money in the state.
Many young people have already gotten government jobs in the past nine years.
He also said women are working more than before.
The Chief Minister wants young people to help the state grow and become a 'growth engine'.
His message was that the young generation must help India reach new heights of prosperity.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a new Youth Policy focused on skills, innovation and employment at the Independence Day ceremony in Lucknow.
The state received investment proposals worth more than Rs 50 lakh crore, creating job opportunities for over 65 lakh youths.
More than nine lakh young people secured government jobs in the past nine years, and over four crore employment and self-employment opportunities were created.
Uttar Pradesh now has 96 lakh MSME units, more than 32,000 large industries and over 22,000 startups.
Women's workforce participation in the state increased threefold, and the school dropout rate fell from 19 per cent to 3 per cent.
