Man hacked to death in Gorakhpur village · thehansindia.com

A man named Shivkumar Tripathi was at a village feast when someone attacked him from behind with a sharp tool.

He was badly hurt, and villagers tried to rush him to the hospital in an autorickshaw.

On the way, the man who attacked him and his brother stopped the vehicle.

They pulled the injured man out and attacked him again until he died.

Police believe this happened because of an old family fight.

About a year earlier, the attacker's cousin was killed, and people from the victim's family were suspected in that case.

Police think the attack was revenge for that earlier killing.

Ten people have been taken in for questioning.

The victim's son is a lawyer, and other lawyers held a protest on the road asking for strong action.

Police are still investigating the exact motive.
