Man tied to pole, beaten to death on theft suspicion

Something very sad happened in a village in India.

A man was accused of stealing something.

Some villagers were angry and suspected him of being the thief.

Instead of calling the police, they caught him themselves.

They tied him to a wooden pole.

Then they hit him very hard with sticks.

The man, whose name was Ram Sneh, was hurt very badly.

Sadly, he died because of his injuries.

Police said he had been in trouble with the law before.

Taking the law into your own hands is never okay, which is why we have police and courts.
