Uttar Pradesh officials are checking whether hospitals are ready for swine flu patients.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak led the review.

He spoke with health officials from districts across the state by video conference.

He also checked hospital arrangements from a control centre in Lucknow.

Four districts were found to need better preparations.

These districts are Barabanki, Shravasti, Jhansi and Gorakhpur.

Hospitals were told to keep important medicines and oxygen equipment available.

Doctors were also told to test very sick patients who have trouble breathing.
