TDP lays stone for NTR district office in Vijayawada
The Telugu Desam Party, also called TDP, is building a new office for its NTR district in Vijayawada, India.
On Friday, party members held a special ceremony called a Bhumi Puja to start the construction.
A Bhumi Puja is a traditional Hindu ceremony that asks for blessings before building begins.
Many important party leaders came to the ceremony.
The office is named after NTR, a famous leader of the party.
The party chief, Chandrababu Naidu, and Nara Lokesh decided to build party offices in every district.
That way, party workers can easily meet senior leaders and members of the legislative assembly.
The building is expected to be finished in about seven or eight months.
When it opens, party members will use it to plan activities and share their concerns.
TDP performed a Bhumi Puja on Friday for construction of its NTR district office at Auto Nagar, Vijayawada.
The office is part of a decision by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh to establish TDP offices in every district.
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath said it was a matter of pride that the party was establishing a district office in the name of NTR.
The NTR district office is expected to be completed within seven to eight months.
The office will serve as a platform for party leaders and cadres to coordinate activities; Kanaka Durga Temple Trust Board Chairman Borra Radhakrishna also attended.
