Chittoor police intensify drive against minor driving

In a place called Chittoor, the police want to stop children from driving cars and two-wheelers.

It is against the law for kids who are too young to drive.

Sometimes children drive and get into accidents.

This year, nine people died and four people got hurt in accidents caused by young drivers.

Last year, even more accidents happened.

The police are watching the roads more closely to catch young drivers.

If a young driver is caught, the parents or the owner of the vehicle can be fined.

The police chief, Mr. Tushar Dudi, asked parents not to give vehicles to their children for learning to drive or for going to school and college.

He said allowing children to drive puts their lives and other people's lives at risk.

He asked everyone to follow traffic rules so the roads become safer.
