Officials want to develop Puligundu into a larger tourist destination.

The plan will happen in three stages.

First, roads, steps, lights and safety equipment will be repaired.

Visitors will also get drinking water, toilets and parking.

Next, trekking, rock climbing and nature activities may be added.

An eco-park, butterfly garden and viewpoints are also proposed.

Later, more places to stay and improved temple facilities could be provided.

Local people may earn money by guiding visitors, selling food and making handicrafts.

Trekking, regulated rock climbing, bouldering, a possible zipline or rope course, nature walks and viewpoints.
Accommodation proposals
Eco-cottages, wooden cottages, tent camping, glamping units and nearby village homestays.
Local participation
Youth may be trained as guides, while women’s self-help groups may operate food and handicraft outlets.
