UK Surgeon Struck Off After Connecting Patient's Organs Incorrectly
A doctor in the United Kingdom made a very bad mistake while operating on a patient's tummy.
The doctor, named Yasser Adly Abdel Rahman, connected the wrong parts of the patient's intestines.
This mistake made it so the patient's food and waste could not move through the body the right way.
The patient became very sick, was in a lot of pain, and was in critical condition.
Another doctor had to perform a second operation to fix the mistake and save the patient's life.
A special group of experts looked into what happened and said the mistake was extremely serious.
They decided the doctor should not be allowed to practice medicine anymore because he posed a risk to patients.
The doctor did not attend the hearing and said the people investigating him were being unfair.
In the end, he was banned from being a doctor in the UK.

The mistake left another section of the small bowel unattached and put Patient A, a young man, in critical condition.
An expert witness told the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service the mistake was 'not known to man' and 'as bad as it gets'; experts said another surgeon's corrective operation saved the patient's life.
The tribunal found Dr Rahman breached 2021 restrictions by taking a medical job in Ireland without informing regulators, and banned him from practising in the UK.
