Congress lists five achievements as Monsoon Session adjourns sine die

In India, Parliament is like a big meeting where leaders talk about and vote on laws for the whole country.

It meets a few times every year, and one of those meetings, called the Monsoon Session, just ended on August 13, 2026.

The two biggest groups in Parliament are the Congress party and the BJP, and they often disagree with each other.

The Congress party said the session was a success because the government could not pass several important bills.

Bills are like ideas for new laws, and four big ones were delayed or never introduced this time.

Congress also said the BJP did not have enough votes to pass another important bill.

A big argument was about students who were hurt by police during a protest at a place called Jantar Mantar.

Another argument was about money given to a famous temple called the Ram Temple, which some people say was not handled properly.

Because the two parties could not agree on what to discuss, the session ended with fewer laws being made than planned.
