GATE 2027 Registration Opens August 14, Check Fees and Dates
GATE is a big test for engineering students who want to continue studying or get jobs.
The GATE 2027 exam will be held in February 2027.
Before the exam, students must fill out an application form online.
Registration starts on August 14, 2026.
The regular deadline to apply is September 21, 2026.
Students who miss it can apply until September 30, but they must pay an extra late fee.
This year, Indian students must use an app called DigiLocker during registration.
Their personal details will be filled into the form automatically from DigiLocker.
Students must also upload a photograph, signature and identity proof and complete a live facial scan.
After paying the fee, they should save the confirmation page.
GATE 2027 registration begins August 14, 2026 through the GOAPS portal on the official website gate2027.iitm.ac.in.
The regular registration window closes September 21, 2026, and an extended period with an additional late fee runs until September 30, 2026.
Registration via DigiLocker is mandatory for all Indian nationals, with personal details auto-filled into the application.
Regular fees are Rs 1,000 for female, SC, ST and PwD candidates and Rs 2,000 for all other candidates, including foreign nationals.
The GATE 2027 exam is scheduled for February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027, with results on March 19, 2027.
