Mumbai Pre-Ganeshotsav Processions Bring Crowds, Security, Traffic Diversions
Mumbai will have many Ganesh idol arrival celebrations on Saturday before Ganeshotsav begins.
About 30-40 important idols will be brought through different parts of the city.
One major procession is for Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani.
It will start at noon from the Parel Central Railway Workshop Ground.
Thousands of people may gather to watch the processions.
Police, the Rapid Action Force and the Central Reserve Police Force will help keep people safe.
Some roads will be diverted and parking will not be allowed on the routes.
People should follow police instructions and plan extra time for travel.
Nearly 30-40 prominent Ganesh idols are scheduled to arrive across Mumbai on Saturday.
Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani’s procession will begin at noon from the Parel Central Railway Workshop Ground and pass through Lalbaug-Chinchpokli.
Around 800-1,000 police personnel, supported by RAF and CRPF teams, are expected to manage security and crowds.
Traffic diversions will affect routes around Lalbaug, Parel, Chinchpokli, Byculla, Sewri and adjoining areas.
No parking will be allowed along procession routes, while one lane will remain open for emergency vehicles.
