Pune Man Booked Over Allegedly Fake Caste Documents
Police in Pune have accused a man named Dnyaneshwar Shelke of using fake documents.
They say he falsely showed that he lived in Koltawade.
The documents allegedly included a made-up land record and residence certificates with fake seals.
Police say he used them to get a ration card and caste certificates.
These certificates could help someone receive government-related benefits.
A committee checked his Scheduled Tribe claim and said it was invalid.
The committee ordered the certificate to be cancelled and taken back.

Bund Garden police registered a case against Dnyaneshwar Baban Shelke over allegedly forged residence and land records.
Police said Shelke used the documents to obtain a ration card, caste certificate and Scheduled Tribe validity certificate.
The complaint alleged he used school and revenue records belonging to members of another family in Koltawade.
A scrutiny committee later declared his Scheduled Tribe claim invalid and ordered the certificate cancelled and seized.
The complaint also alleges forged seals and signatures were used on a residence certificate bearing his wife's photograph.
